Commuting costs are always getting costlier and one of the things we know is that taking the bus is always the cheapest option.
Or is it not??
In Malaysia, using the train is costly, but if you tweak your travel enough, the cost of taking a train from Bahau to Singapore using the Shuttle Rakyat is about RM12 (approx USD 4.00) compared to RM23 on the bus. We usually take that to our visits back to Kuala Pilah and the immigration is a breeze in Johor Baru where the Immigration Officers climb on the train to endorse your passes before you set off to Woodlands, Singapore.
It's Cheap and good...but NOT RELIABLE. Uncomfortable ..but it's still airconditioned.
